Second error ignored

This plugin works perfectly. I have it driven from a ESP32 which is monitoring the filament used in mm's and triggers when the rate of usage stops or slows down.  I have found if I hit resume and then have a second failure the error is ignored.  I feeding pin 12 of the rp3 and can create the same issue with just a button pulling pin 12 low.  Am I missing something.
