Configurable namespaces for standalone version

When deploying standalone I would appreciate an option to configure which namespaces can be selected on the index page. If only a single namespace is configured, it should ideally be selected by default and the select dropdown can then be hidden.

This is still a wanted feature. I don't see a reason to close it even if there is no one currently working on it. It also serves the purpose of documenting that this could be a future addition.

I was planning to implement this by introducing a new environment variable, for example, ALLOWED_NAMESPACES. This variable would accept a comma-separated list of namespaces that should be available in the dropdown on the index page.

As you suggested, if only a single namespace is provided in this list, the UI would automatically select it and hide the dropdown menu.

This seems like a straightforward way to configure it during deployment.

Would this approach work for your use case? I'm also open to other ideas. For instance, a more dynamic approach could be an admin settings panel in the UI, though that would be a more significant change.

Thank you @LogicalGuy77 for taking over the issue. The proposed solution via an environment variable sounds good to me. I don't see a need for a graphical option. The default for not setting the environment variable would then be the current behavior I assume?

Yes, the default behavior would be the current implementation (which shows all namespaces). I will go forward with implementing the environment variable solution :)
