I request an extension so Netmiko logs a warning when it discovers backspace characters in router output. I realize it's probably not realistic for Netmiko to interpret & process those characters like a terminal does. However their presence seems to break the Netmiko match of the echoed output against the command that Netmiko sent, and I was stumped for a long time. It's easy to miss the backspace characters in the output. I only spotted those characters after I finally redirected stderr to a file, then viewed that.
Is it possible that presence of these characters is an indication that something about the setup like screen width was not successful?
Anyhow, this is a follow-up to #2777 and #3761
If you agree it's appropriate I'll be glad to work up a PR. Thanks for listening.
