Basically, after getting the mod and patching everything. It just takes forever to load and I'm not sure if I have to keep it up for like a few hours or what. In any case, I am using EndeavourOS, and added The Sims 2 Starter Pack to steam and ran it using Proton Experimental. I am stumped and don't know what to do.

Patch Version

v0.2.0

UI Density

200% / 4K / 2160p

Installation Type

Repack or other automated installation

Hanging on the loading screen is not normal. Although from another user (#46), this happened because of the Clean UI mod. Do you have that installed?

If so, you can workaround it by adding some lines to the patcher program, and re-run the patcher to catch those files too. That's just until the patcher implements support for this in future (#46)... or you could uninstall Clean UI. Let me know if you need specific instructions.

I'm a fellow EndeavourOS-turned-Arch user too, but I run the game using vanilla Wine + DXVK winetricks, using a retail copy of the game. It is working on the latest version Wine (9.16). I can't imagine Proton Experimental being the problem since the game makes it this far.

I spoke too soon, it could be related to compression.

As I sent that comment and fired up the game, I witnessed the same as your screenshot — a white background with just the logo. I'm not sure what the state of my patches were, but reverting everything and patching again with "Compress Packages" unchecked works.
