Manually updating the data structure

Hi, i need some help understanding if it's possible to update manually the data structure,
automatic updates do not fit my use case, and i need to somehow update when specific conditions are met,

i could not find if its possible in the examples/documentation, any idea if its possible or how it could be implemented?
