Calendar not working at all

I just installed Obsidian and tried to install the plug in today.

Describe the bug

The calendar doesn't work. It does not appear on the screen.

Steps to reproduce

Install the plug in.

Expected behavior

I expected to see the calendar on the right, as described.

There's no calendar.

Environment (please specify)

OS

Windows 11

Obsidian Version (e.g. v0.10.6)

1.8.10

Theme (if applicable):

Default theme.

Same problem. I tried deleting and re-installing, with no success.
In the commands, I have only two commands starting with "Calendar:":

• Calendar: Open Weekly Note
• Calendar: Reveal active note

I have no "Calendar: Open view" command.

Versions:

• Obsidian v1.8.10 (installer v1.8.3)
• Calendar: 1.5.10
• Platform: Linux (Ubuntu 24.04.2 LTS)

I have to agree with OP. Calendar does not work for me at all either. I can't even open it. There is no "Calendar: Open view".

I have replicated the issue on Mac. Seems to be the same cause, different symptoms for the different platform OSs.

The calendar plugin would not open.
I attempted to install the plugin, the animation of "Installing plugin 'Calendar'" is just looping.

Version:
v.1.8.10

Calendar:
1.5.10

macOS Sequoia version 15.3.2

I had the same issue after reinstalling my laptop. The plugins I have was installed via the sync feature. But if I manually uninstalled Calendar, then restarted Obsidian and manually installed it again, I got it working.

Unfortunately, the solution above did not work for me. The notes say that a calendar is supposed to show up on the right side after enabling the plugin. I do not see any such calendar.

Same as @Battle-Pheasant , reinstalling didn't help me either.

It's a shame, because it's a very useful plugin (thanks for writing it!).
Is there some trace that we could enable to help diagnose the problem?

Note: it did work a few monthes ago, but stopped working. I'm not sure if it was linked to a specific release.

You can use ctrl+shift+i and then select the Console tab. There you will see all the output.

Also the calendar doesn't show up. It's just an icon, which for me ended up in the top right corner. And if you have many addons, then that list might be so long that not all icons are visible. If you put your mouse on the icon bar, you can scroll it with the mouse wheel. So it might be at the end of that list.

Now, I feel stupid. I've just seen that there is a small calendar icon on the top of the right column. I'm not sure why I didn't see it before. Clicking it gives me a right column with just the calendar. So it's there, and it's working.

Still, in the commands I don't have a "Calendar: Open view" command, but since I can see the calendar now, it doesn't really matter anymore.

Therefore, for me at least, it's working now (and was maybe working before re-installing, but I can't be sure)

Hi. I just viewed console output after reinstalling and enabling the calendar plugin again. Here is what I saw: "Calendar: styles.css not found" I do not know if that is related to why this plugin does not work, but that is what was shown. Thanks

I don't have a styles.css in my plugin folder. There is a styles.css in the code though. Which version do you get? I have 1.5.10.

You might also want to turn of any custom css you might be running, just in case there is a conflict somewhere (just to test).

Just found this issue: #170
and it seems its not needed, so you can probably ignore that error.
