[Bug] Enable PGLite feature deletes exsting user data #5277
Comments
Thank you for raising an issue. We will investigate into the matter and get back to you as soon as possible. |
Hey @mjohenneken! I'm here to help you with any bugs, questions, or contributions. Let's work on resolving this issue together. The behavior you're experiencing with the PGLite feature is currently expected, as the feature does not automatically migrate existing client-side data when enabled. Users must manually back up their data before enabling PGLite, as automatic data migration is not yet implemented [1][2]. It would indeed be beneficial to update the dialog text to inform users about the potential data loss. To continue talking to Dosu, mention @dosu. Help Dosu learn! 🐛 Bug Description
I got a message if i would like to enable the pglite client side database for better performance. After confirmation all my client side data (agents, messages, settings) were deleted and got lost. I wasn't expecting that. I would suggest to update the dialog text to make users aware of potential data loss. Is the reset actually intended?
📷 Recurrence Steps
Confirm use of the PGLite on and existing client
🚦 Expected Behavior
No data should be deleted or user should be informed that data will be deleted
