I just ordered some of these. I am working on a similar project and eager to bring this up as a dev board. Hopefully they arrive quickly to Denmark.

This is not a good atmosphere if you found a hardware have it's supported GFX library but ask for another GFX library should also support it. Every new hardware appear, I always receive many support request. Please consider those libraries are open source, lack of sponsor, only have very little hobby time to write the code and need to paid for hardware to support their hobby. But you said "affiliations" irresponsibly.

@moononournation No problem. You're welcome. Many people ask for new features and support, but I don't think you need to bother.
I haven't seen any issues or discussions about this library lately. I only react to what I can when I have free time, am in a good mental state, and feel like it.
Everyone is free to express their opinion, but I decide how to spend my time.
