Contributing section observation

I noticed that in my forked repository, after i commit my changes, and was ready for pull request, i see the status update ( diff ) Between the target / parent repo, and my branch:

so the question is, should i:

1. git remote add upstream [email protected]:ludeknovy/jtl-reporter.git
2. git pull upstream master
3. git push origin
4. Open a Pull Request
   Should we include these steps in the Contributing section?
