Notes break and don't show in backoffice in U13

Hi Marc, i recently made a change and saved one of the note data types to switch its css classes and now the notes no longer show at all.

We are currently using U13.7.2 and before I made a change to the data type the notes were happily displaying fine. Its worth noting that all those notes haven't been touched since we migrated up from Umbraco 9.

Is this package still supported or is there an alternative way to achieve the same now for U13+

Hope you are well!

It's because Editor Notes uses Umbraco's built in RTE editor to add the note content, but in V13 when Umbraco introduced the concept of blocks inside the RTE (as the long term replacement for Macros) , they updated the format of how the RTE stores the edited content. It used to save as raw HTML markup, but now it stores as JSON, with two properties 'blocks' containing the content added by the blocks and 'markup' containing the raw HTML markup from the RTE with placeholders for each block.

So I think, the fix might be to update the angularjs controller the package uses to assign the editorNotes value to be this new markup property

$scope.editorNotes =
$scope.model.config.editorNotes.markup

But the super popular package Contentment has introduced a really nice Editor Notes implementation, so most of the cool kids have switched to use that instead, and there is a migrator in uSync Migrations that will migrate Editor Notes to Contentment Notes. Anyway it didn't seem to make much sense to maintain both versions of note editing moving forwards when the Contentment one is so cool...

Hi Marc,

Thank you for this. I think I'll port your package manually into the project and make the tweaks below.
There is too much in contentment we don't need just for the notes.
