Tracking with : `Use proxy script` don’t work

I have WP instance, installed on a immutable way, and I have Connect Matomo installed.

I tried to use the configuration : Connect Matomo Settings => Enable tracking => Add tracking code = Use proxy script

Still this isn’t work and I have this error log on my server :

I’m Running WP-Matomo 1.0.31, with Matomo 5.6.2, and WordPress 6.9.

After some researches it seems that for me, a first step might be, being able to set the var $wpRootDir of the file .../wp-piwik/proxy/config.php from an env var.

Hi @zorglube can you create a config.local.php file in the wp-piwik/proxy folder and set the $wpRootDir variable there? Then see if it works for you.

That I can, still, if you understood the way that my WP is deployed it would be way better to be abble to set the value from an env var.

Also it is not really obvious that the Connect Matomo Settings => Enable tracking => Add tracking code = 'Use proxy script' option need https://github.com/matomo-org/tracker-proxy to be installed in the server. I mean unless editing the sources, a user have no chances to see that the to add the tracker-proxy is needed for the 'Use proxy script' option.

If modifying files manually is inconvenient in your set up can you tell me how you set constants in wp-config.php? If you add $wpRootDir = getenv('WP_MATOMO_WP_ROOT_DIR'); would that make things easier for you?

Yes that woud be way better, also somthing from the plugin configuration section into the WP admin might be good.
Here you can see how my WP is deployed : https://github.com/zorglube/clever-wordpress Keep in you mind that, it is rebuild and deployed at each change, and the old instance is droped at each deployement, only th database is maintained between deployments.
Also in my case, WP is in ./web/wp, and plugins are in ./web/app/plugins.
