[Question] Device reported as "Generic Mobile device" in Matomo Dashboard

Hi,

I'm using the SDK on a new Lenovo Tab One, and the device is reported as "Lenovo Tab One" with Device brand + model set as Unknown.
The model id reported by the Http/User Agent in DeviceHelper.java is the good one : TB305FU.
Everything works correctly with the previous tablet from Lenovo, the Lenovo Tab M9 (TB310FU).
Is the device "too new" to be referenced by matomo?
Is there a way to override those values in the dashboard (Device brand + model)?

I guess you speaking about https://github.com/matomo-org/matomo-sdk-android/blob/master/tracker/src/main/java/org/matomo/sdk/tools/DeviceHelper.java#L57-L60 right ?
Did you debug into this ?

Yes exactly, the model "TB305FU" is in the string returned by the getUserAgent(), but in the matomo dashboard, it is shown as "Generic Mobile device" / Unknown.

Matomo detects the device based on the provided user agent. This is done using device detector. You can check for detections here: https://devicedetector.lw1.at
