Pinging users not in room causes message not to bridge

Trying to ping a discord user that isn't in the room (done with t2bot with autogenerating a link) causes this to fail

This may be a downstream issue in t2bot, but I thought it would be more likely up here.

Replication:
In a bridged room, send

Result:
In discord, it's not bridged

Expected result:
Message is bridged with ping to user not in server
