"Try it out: view.matrix.org" leads to messages from years ago and "There are no newer messages yet." #284

@pdurbin

Hi! I'm a huge fan of this project and I'm subscribed to the "on hold" issue...

... and I can't wait to hear some news.

Meanwhile, I figured I'd go back to https://view.matrix.org/as suggested in the README. "Try it out: view.matrix.org"

Now, I'm aware that I can't even open a issue over at https://github.com/matrix-org/matrix-static because the project is archived. However, I'm sad to report that for my channel anyway, view.matrix.org leads to the impression that the channel is completely dead, or that no one has written a message in years, at least.

I search for my channel and click on it.

I observe that the date is 30 Jun 2021, over two years ago. At the bottom is says "There are no newer messages yet." I can click a link for even older messages but there is no link for newer messages. This gives the sad impression that the channel is dead, but this is far from the truth!

I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place. Bringing back Matrix Viewer would solve all my problems, but it's on hold. (Is there anything I can do to help?!?) I can't use view.matrix.org as suggested in the README because gives the impression that my channel is dead. Are there other solutions I'm not thinking of? Is my channel broken in some way? Please help! ❤️
