Search doesn't work

Steps to reproduce

• Open Firefox in a new profile
• Install Sidebery
• Set hotkey to search tabs
• Use hotkey

Actual behavior

Either doesn't open search, even when the hotkey isn't reserved (mostly on builtin pages like new tab page) or if it does open, it's not focused

Expected behavior

Press hotkey and it focuses on search

I can confirm this problem. In my case, when using the hotkey for the search, two "search windows" appear: one in the top of the sidebery side bar, and a second one under the extensions part of the navigation bar. Unfortunately, none of these search windows has focus, so the search string can't be typed in directly.

System: Ubuntu 22.04

If I manually click anywhere inside the sidebar first to give it focus and then activate search (via shortcut key) it will have focus and work.

But if the focus is on the webpage when using the shortcut, then the issue occurs.

Is there any progress on this, or some workaround maybe? Using the mouse to focus on the search bar every time is quite annoying

It most likely a Firefox bug - opening popup without focus (I stumble upon this time to time with any addon and there is no fix or workaround for this from addon perspective)

Or it may be the current page stealing keyboard events (this happens for different shortcuts on github, Firefox's dev tools and so on...). To partially fix this I can try to inject script into active page and try to hijack keyboard events for Sidebery shortcuts. Partially, because injection cannot be made for any page. Issue to track: #2101

I think it's odd that it works perfectly with a shortcut for "Edit Title" for example, because if I press the shortcut for this, the small box opens and gets auto-focused... Oddly enough however, the search box that appears when a shortcut for "Search" is pressed does not get auto-focused. Maybe the code for the Edit Title box can be used for search as well?

I think I fixed the isse for the most part with this PR: #2213

It still doesn't work 100% of times, but it works nearly always, and it's much more consistent than it was previously.
