unusable on firetv

Describe the bug
I installed the app on my firetv stick.
I could not get past the initial welcome screen.
The navigation buttons allow highlighting the "skip" and "next" controls but no key could activate them.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. sideload the app to firetv stick
2. open the app
3. try to close initial screen.

Expected behavior
I would expect that pressing the enter/ok- key on the remote activates the controls
