How about having a "Notes Thread"?
What is it? How does it help?
A thread with only a dummy (or no) model, hence no replies.
It allows an easy access notepad.
Helpful to keep copies of important messages.
Eg: If I have a long conversation with the LLM and have intermediate replies which are important, they can easily be copy-pasted in the Notes thread, which is a consolidation of such important messages from a long conversation.
The above would make LLMs and Jan more usable and useful.
Ideally, one should have a visual marker to distinguish them from other threads. If the team doesn't want to put much time in it, a simple option could be having a title like "Notes Thread" followed by a number (sequential or date+time based). The user, of course can edit the title. This would also take care of the thread title, which, I suppose, it based on querying the LLM (remember: no model being used for this thread)
