Support for text styling in timeline diagrams

Our team uses timeline diagrams for simple product roadmaps; see an example here: https://docs.calitp.org/benefits/enrollment-pathways/#product-roadmap.

It would be ideal if we could style the text on these diagrams to create hierarchy and emphasis. For example, section headings for years would be larger and perhaps bold. Status labels for quarters would be italicized.

We style flowchartdiagrams using this syntax.

and it works as expected:

But timeline diagrams simply render the characters without styling. Are there plans to enhance timeline diagrams with the ability to style text? Are others interested in this functionality?
