Use the digital indicator to make the breadboard parallel to the central FLS-95 rail (see General alignment tips and tricks). Tighten the screws attaching the breadboard to the posts, but do not lock the breadboard down. Move the digital indicator along the FLS-95 rail (on a dedicated X-95 carrier) and make the long side (the one facing the FLS-95 rail) parallel to the detection axis. Repeat this step for the second excitation path.
⚠️ For small adjustments, it can be helpful to knock against the breadboard (not fully tightened down) to induce small rotations.
Insert set-screws into the scanner mount (it's easier to do this now) until they just protrude into the ER post holes.
Shown below is an image of a ThorLabs scanner mount screwed onto the left excitation path. Also attached is the base for the translation stage.
Use the digital indicator and indicate against the surface of the galvo
mount facing the central FLS-95 rail.
The raised FLS40-rail is placed on a 55 mm post (consisting of 1x RS2P/M post and 1x 5 mm spacer PS5M. The 50 mm post has to be screwed in with the top part to allow for sufficient clearance to the galvo mount. The location of the posts depends on the galvo mount, for a standard Thorlabs / Citizen Chiba mount, the image below shows the placement.
For Scanlab mounts, the posts should be clear of the airflow from the cooler.
The 25 mm linear stage (Thorlabs XRN25C/M) can then be placed on the base plate. The linear stage is mounted in two steps: First, attach the base plate, second: Mount the linear stage. The dovetail allows coarse lateral movements of the stage.
