How to order files listed with consult-recent-files by date?

Hi,

consult-recent-files orders files in some (to me) unknown way. I want to have them ordered by date, so that the most recent file is being listed on top of the list. As of today I need to search for the most recent file, which requires me to enter so many letters, that I tend to not use the feature and open the file directly, which are fewer key strokes.

So, is it possible to change the sort order of consult-recent-files (and ONLY consult-recent-files)?

consult-recent-file shows the files in the order of the recentf-list variables and I think this is the best that we can do?
