Accessibility Labels Search field

Labels inform the user what input is expected. Therefore, meaningful and permanently visible labels should be present.
The highlighted search field is labeled only with placeholder text. There is no other way to identify the search field. This is problematic for several reasons.
Placeholder text usually has too little contrast with the background and is therefore not recognizable for some users. Furthermore, the text disappears upon input and is no longer available.

Dear @moodle0909
thank you for mentioning this. You really have a point here and we would also confirm the necessity of the label. This said it clearly is a core issue. Would you be able to research in Moodle tracker if this has already been reported? You can of course also create a new tracker issue and post it here, so people can vote to maybe raise attention to it.
