I carefully read all instruction and confirm that I did the following:

• I tested with the latest mpv version to validate that the issue is not already fixed.
• I provided all required information including system and mpv version.
• I produced the log file with the exact same set of files, parameters, and conditions used in "Reproduction Steps", with the addition of --log-file=output.txt.
• I produced the log file while the behaviors described in "Actual Behavior" were actively observed.
• I attached the full, untruncated log file.
• I attached the backtrace in the case of a crash.

Compositor bug, try with hyprwm/Hyprland@e0cf888 and report back if it persists

@llyyr Thanks for reply, Tested with both hyprwm/Hyprland@e0cf888 and hyprwm/Hyprland@a1e62dc the issue of inconsistent colors between full screen and without full screen got fixed but still the color is off

Btw, Running mpv with --vo=vaapi fixes the issue.

try --treat-srgb-as-power22=no see if that fixes it. if not, provide a mpv log file with hyprland master please

Running mpv with --vo=vaapi fixes the issue.

Playing back the video in Windows Media Player will also fix the issue

mpv receives two image descriptions, and the latest one still doesn't have target_primaries event that is required for compositors to send. Besides that I can't tell why this issue would exist, seeing it works just fine in other compositors.

On broken color management implementations, you can disable mpv's usage of it with --target-colorspace-hint=no

ran with --target-colorspace-hint=no, no difference, with-no-colorspace-hint.txt

also this is the log with sway if it helps sway.txt

I have same issue for probably few months. Running mpv (or file manager that starts mpv) with WAYLAND_DISPLAY= as env fixes issue for me.
So bug only present with waylandvk and colors and correct with x11vk.

Also running in Wayland mode using --target-colorspace-hint=no fixes color issues in fullscreen for me.

Idk this is related or not, I set sub-color='#DDDDDD' then I check the color using pick screen color in kcolorchooser and it said '#dfdfdf'; that was on vo=gpu-next, but when I change it to vo=gpu kcolorchooser said exactly like it was set which is '#dddddd'. I can't tell the different visually though...
