Tuning name parameters

Hi there,

I've been using a little bit of ~dirt.orbits.each hackery to make orbits pick up a tuningName parameter, and if present pass that tuning name onto the associated Event. This allows specifying any tunings present in Supercollider's Tuning.directory. I wanted to gauge any level of community interest in making this a feature of SuperDirt proper. Let me know 💙

sorry for missing out on replying for more than half a year. I wasn't checking.
We could add a lot of good tuning and scale logic into superdirt if this is how we want to go about it – so far all the tuning/scale stuff was done in tidal itself, so I kept it simple.

I think there aren't any alternative tunings implemented in tidal or strudel, apart from some scales with microtonal increments. A few people have asked about it so there is demand.. (I remember 'n' and 'note' being split out at some point and think this 'hack' was written before then, which would explain it)

Anyway I think it would be useful to have it in SuperDirt, and perhaps implement something similar in strudel's webdough. It could also be implemented in tidal and strudel but it seems SuperCollider already has well developed foundations..

yes, probably it would be fine to just drop this line, right?

This all sounds great. I’m in favor of doing it in Supercollider rather than tidal/strudel, just for simplicity’s sake.
