Search does not work

When I use the search input (on the right hand side of the navbar or in the sidebar), the search page is opened and displays "Searching ..." indefinitely.

As the javascript console shows, the file searchtools.js (in line 66) throws a TypeError "docContent is undefined".

I am not sure whether this is related to sphinxbootstrap4theme, but I tried with the alabaster theme and there the search worked correctly.

As a workaround I got rid of search by adding to conf.py:

html_sidebars = {
    '**': [
        'globaltoc.html', 
        'relations.html',
    ]
}

and editing it out of navbar at /usr/lib/python3.7/site-packages/themes/sphinxbootstrap4theme/navbar.html
