Download speed is slow

Hi,

I can only manage a maximum of 1 MB/s when downloading a video with other YouTube clients up to 5 MB/s.

Can it be improved?

yes it can, but not feasible rn. we have 2 approaches

1. implement download threads:

   • this can improve it, but won't fix the main issue (which is rate limiting). also it will introduce new issues and download resume feature would be buggy

2. regain access for other yt clients (like web/tv/tv_embedded)

   • these clients require "poToken" which is hard to obtain automatically, they also accepted cookies. we now use "android_vr" which doesnt accept cookies, thus the random download speed u get

both workarounds would take time but they are definetly planned, thanks ^^

Sounds like a lot of work, but good that solutions are being worked on.
