X-Ray Sample App - How it is deployed

Hello Craig, I am really enjoying your course AWS Developer Tools Deep Dive on CloudGuru amd reached the X-Ray section. Can you please let me know how this application eb-java-scorekeep-xray-gettingstarted-v1.3 is deployed? I see a gradle build and the directory .ebextensions. Is this directory that makes Elastic Beanstalk do the deployment a expected?
