Investigate why zip performs differently fails on Lars' machine

This might be a wider problem, hopefully it isn't unique.

We've seen some tests fail on my Linux desktop so far without any clear reason. Well, the tests fail because the zip application performs differently. But we don't know why there is a noticeable difference there.

Would be good to fix. This is so we remember :D
