I've been using wireguard from these guys here and it's been fire and forget. Set up tunnels, forget - it will always remain connected, whether the phone reboots, whether the network is flaky, whether I'm coming back from the deep backcountry after two days - as soon as packets can be routed from my phone to my wireguard server, the phone turns up in monitoring.

The netbird client has been a lot more flaky. I've disable battery optimizations and everything, still, on occasion it will just drop offline without further explanation. Just now I caught it, not being available and when I started the app it displayed "connecting" for a split second and then the tunnel worked again.

I get that making that more robust might not be for everybody due to battery consumption, but could you guys try and implement something as robust as the pure wireguard client and at least make it available as an option?

seconded - for me this is a must have, otherwise usability on mobile is rather restricted. It should run as a service in the background - exactly like Tailscale or similar apps do.

Folks with good habits close unnecessary apps, and in general system closes unused apps too - you just can't rely on keeping the app window open in this type of app.

Otherwise - super happy with NB, especially in work related env.
