the button in Organization->Sites->object could use a setting that allows to set a custom filter(or something to assign it somewhere else, so when you click it's already there) created earlier with topology views, so when i click it i immediately see the topology i designed, the way i designed it
this is what i see
this is what i would like to see
it could use a way to create a object that wraps both the filter and the coordinate group and use it in the site topology
maybe with fields in the custom filter to statically assign a coordinate group and a site so the "topology" button can retrieve the correct filter for that site
Use case
i'n my case we have a highly tiered network structure that could use a static visualization that stays the same without needing to tune the view filter+coordinate group to check the topology every time

+1, my issue is different but related, since Node Label Items became a config option in v4.2.0 and is set to none by default, the site topology view feature is utterly useless. There really needs to be a way to change the settings of the site topology view.
Uh oh!
