PLY import without textures

Super great addon, thank you very much for putting it out here. The only solution I've seen so far to do what it does.

I have one problem that Iám trying to workaround in newly added python skills, but I'm not being able to seem to fix it yet.

My PLY sequence imports fine, though completely without textures.
I guess this is because the PLY's themselves from this particular app, don't yet get an assigned material, just a texture from the volumetricvideo-recording.

I am trying to work around it creating a new material every frame I pass in blenders 'play'-mode.

This works, but all the materials only add to the first frame in de sequence.

I hope you have an incling how to fix it.

A few questions:
Is the texture data encoded as vertex colors?
Is there any chance you could share 2 or 3 PLYs from your sequence?
