Describe the goal you'd like to achieve

As a poll participant, I want to see polls grouped into clearly labeled categories, because it helps me quickly identify which polls are relevant to me based on my current needs or stage (e.g., beginner vs advanced workshops).

As a poll owner, I want to organize public polls into thematic sections, because it avoids confusion for users and improves clarity when managing multiple ongoing polls.

Describe possible solutions

  • Add the ability to assign a poll to a custom category (e.g., via a new field in the poll settings).
  • Display category headers on the public polls overview page, grouping polls accordingly.
  • Optionally allow users to filter or collapse/expand categories.
  • Persist the selected sorting/grouping between sessions for better usability.

Additional context

We currently manage 10–15 public polls at any given time, mostly used for event and training sign-ups. Without grouping, the user experience becomes cluttered and unintuitive—especially for first-time participants.

A mockup could look like this:

[Category: Getting Started]
 - Poll 1: Welcome Workshop
 - Poll 2: First Steps with Us

[Category: Advanced Skills]
 - Poll 3: Marketing Deep Dive
 - Poll 4: Fundraising Essentials

Being able to organize polls this way would significantly improve the navigation and user experience.

Thank you for the great work on this plugin and for considering this feature request! 🙏
