Borders are not consistent

this is the command for it
after-startup-command = [
'exec-and-forget borders active_color=0xffe1e3e4 inactive_color=0xff494d64 width=5.0'
]

it works when i first boot my laptop, but it goes away after sometime and reloading aerospace does nothing for it, how can i force reload it so i can see the borders again?
