Encourage/simplify using the last completed score instead of lowerbound/upperbound

I think only the last non-bound score and the last score (which already carries information on it being upper or lower bound) matters.

so any non-bound score supercedes previously announced bounds

with a bound the iteration is not completed (i.e. failing high or low)
the non-bound score is a completed iteration
