Monterey bootable USB stalls out at "creating bootable usb"

🪲 Description

Mist never completes creation of bootable Monterey USB drive.

📋 Steps to Reproduce

1. Open Mist.app
2. Click on bootable disk for latest Monterey.
3. Wait for all steps to complete and reach "Creating bootable usb"
4. Process runs for multiple hours without finishing (no visible errors).

✅ Expected Behaviour

Monterey bootable USB is created.

💻 Environment

• Mist version (App menu ⇨ About Mist): VERSION
• macOS Version (sw_vers): VERSION BUILD
• Hardware (system_profiler SPHardwareDataType):
  • Model Identifier: MODEL_IDENTIFIER
  • Chip : CHIP
