Error on steps for creating macOS Installer in Disk Image when trying to create a bootable installer.

Invalid Termination Status: 1

installer: Package name is macOS Sequoia
installer: Installing at base path /Volumes/082-08661
installer: The install failed. (The Installer could not install the software because there was no software found to install. The Installer could not install the software.)

📋 Steps to Reproduce

1. Open Mist.app
2. Click on create bootable
3. Select appropriate drive
4. Wait for error at last step of "setup" creating macOS installer in Disk Image and before Bootable Installer is created
5. Observe error

✅ Expected Behaviour

Bootable is created successfully

💻 Environment

• Mist version (App menu ⇨ About Mist): 0.20.1
• macOS Version (sw_vers): 26.0 Beta (25A5316i)
• Hardware (system_profiler SPHardwareDataType):
  • Model Identifier: Mac13,1
  • Chip : Apple M1 Max

I have cache folder enabled
Error occurred before the installers were cached as well.
Error occurred on multiple external drives that have worked fine before.
Error occurred when trying to create a bootable for macOS 15.6 (24G84)

Having the same "Invalid Termination Status: 1" message when trying to use Download and export macOS Installer. Just want to reiterate that I am not trying to create a bootable installer, just trying to download the installer to my hard drive.

From About This Mac:

• MacBook Pro
• 15-inch, 2018
• Processor: 2.6 GHz 6-Core Intel Core i7
• Graphics: Intel UHD Graphics 630 1536 MB
• Memory: 16 GB 2400 MHz DDR4
• macOS Sequoia 15.6

I assume that /Volumes/082-08661 is a temporary volume (attempting to mirror the line wrap in the actual pop up window):

I did notice that I had to install the privileged helper tool both times I opened Mist. (I checked for updates and it said it is up to date. Mist is at version 0.20.1.) I also cleared Mist's cache in case something got corrupted during the download, but the same error occurs when I do a fresh redownload.

I am getting a similar error trying to create a 15.6 Bootable Installer on a Sandisk Ultra Flash Drive that I have used before.

I have erased the target and retried with the same result.

Open /Users/Shared/Misst/Cache/#/InstallAssistang.pkg

that should guide you to create USB Installer

Thanks for the pointer! There's a couple of mistypes in that path, so just in case someone needs it:

/Users/Shared/Mist/Cache/#/InstallAssistant.pkg

Where # is a number like 082-04099
