A webfishing-themed mod manager!
Note
Assets located in assets/web/fishing
are WEBFISHING game assets and is excepted from the project's license.
Warning
Rod n' Mod is still on it's alpha stage, so there may be bugs and issues. If you encounter any, please report them to me in the issues page or at my discord! (@nyxical ID:583200866631155714)
Note
Rod n' Mod handles mods differently than Hook Line and Sinker! so mods installed through HLS may not be detected from Rod n' Mod, but it still tries to find mods downloaded by HLS... with the cost of huge processing power every update/search. You can enable this behaviour in the settings, but be warned, it's not recommended for potato puters...
i was bored... and it looks cool tbh
You can download Rod n' Mod here!
- Launch Options: Launch WEBFISHING with or without mods!
- Mod Manager: Install, update, and uninstall mods easily!
- Installation Detection: Automatically finds your WEBFISHING installation! no need to configure anything!
- A webview runtime. I recommend having Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime for Windows, and
libwebkit2gtk-4.1-dev
for Linux. (no official Linux support yet)
Important
Building Rod n' Mod requires Python 3.11.0.
To build Rod n' Mod, you will need to initialize a Virtual Environment and installed the required libraries with: (Powershell)
python -m venv .venv; .\.venv\Scripts\Activate; pip install -r requirements.txt
Once the command is done, you should see a (.venv) in your terminal. This means that the virtual environment is activated. and you can proceed to run the build script:
python setup.py build
This should automatically build Rod n' Mod for you and put the final build at the root folder.
- If Rod n' Mod doesn't reveal the content, try exiting with ALT + F4 and relaunch Rod n' Mod.
- This is an occurence where pywebview api just can't be called on launch. It still tries to save you by refreshing the page though, it may take long for it to show the content.
- If it takes a while for you to install mods, try relaunching Rod n' Mod.
- This happening is currently unsure and i am currently tryiing to figure out why it happens. Although this has never happened since alpha release, but i'm still keeping watch,
- Mods may not be detected by Rod n' Mod if installed from HLS because of how different Rod n' Mod handles installing/detecting mods.
- Rod n' Mod downloads, and renames the final mod name you download through thunderstore and makes sure the mod and it's contents is in a folder.
- HLS does not do anything but dumps the mod in the mods folder.
- Rod n' Mod still tries to find the mods installed through HLS, althoug this process uses a lot of processing power. You can disable this from the Rod n' Mod settings.
