Where is the most trash generated, and what are its sources?

Context: Keep Austin Beautiful is working at the "end of the supply chain" so to speak (because we organize trash pickups) but can we do anything to prevent trash from being generated upstream?  I know the City is doing an art project by beautifying trash cans downtown; maybe we can plug in there?
