Description
Description of project
The Open Austin data research hub is a shared community resource for us to ask and answer questions about our neighborhoods. As this hub grows, we'll strengthen our understanding of Austin and help orgs and individuals alike to tackle big problems at the neighborhood level.
Description of role
We're looking for the first-ever community stakeholder manager for the data research hub. The hub was launched in January 2025 - just enough time for a rough sense of jobs to be done, and simultaneously not enough time to fully know how the hub might evolve. We (Liani and Beto) will work tightly with you to manage the stakeholders that inform the hub, and collaborate with the Open Austin us on how it might continue to grow.
Your responsibilities:
- Using the list of organizations (bottom half of this GitHub project management board to:
- Schedule informational sessions where you learn about the stakeholders’ data needs
- Maintain stakeholder relationships and prevent contacts getting stale.
- Understand Open Austin’s data capabilities
- (As-needed) Read the draft research brief and adapt it for each stakeholder interview
- (As-needed) Collaborate on synthesis sessions to co-create insights with data members
- (Optional) Attending data practice meets as you can
Responsibilities shared amongst Open Austin community:

- (Eventually) Collaborate with Open Austin at-large to add organizations and points-of-contact to grow the hub
