When a currency field has a default value of 0:

The user needs to remove this 0 to change this value, because the field does not react to any input:

Alternatively the user can have a interaction with the field (click/blur) at which point the 0 changes to 0,00:

After this interaction the field is in the desired state where the value is selected and changes on user input:
