There is a proposal to set up a register of namespaces and their well known prefixes. The prefixes could then be used in JSON-LD Context documents, XML Schema Definition (XSD) files, etc.

To start with, I have set up a CSV file at https://github.com/opengeospatial/NamingAuthority/blob/master/incubation/namespaces/namespaces.csv

Please have a look and post comments below with suggestions for additional prefixes to register. Please include a reference to an OGC Standard that uses/mentions the prefix.
