Hi @crvernon,

I’ve just trimmed the manuscript by at least 100 words (now down to ~867 words when excluding table contents) and pushed a new commit to the paper_md branch.

A couple of quick questions:

1. What exactly counts toward the 1 000-word limit?
   I suspect the automated word-count tool may be including every cell in my tables (which seems a bit harsh). In my own check, excluding table bodies I’m at ~867 words.

2. Is it enough to push a new commit to the same branch (which I already did)?
   Or do I need to re-submit the paper on the JOSS submission form as well?
