As the code grows we need to add BWC testing, specifically to be able to support valid testing for features like https://github.com/Aiven-Open/prometheus-exporter-plugin-for-opensearch/pull/295 (see this particular [comment](https://github.com/Aiven-Open/prometheus-exporter-plugin-for-opensearch/pull/295#discussion_r1727527062)).
