Hi there, OpenVINO has not yet been officially announced as a 2026 organization. We don't know if we're accepted. Please wait for the official announcement. |

Hello OpenVINO community and mentors! 👋
I'm Manashree, a second-year B.E student in Robotics & Automation Engineering from India.
I'm drawn to OpenVINO because of its powerful tools for efficient AI inference and computer vision, which connect well with my experience building a non-invasive AI platform in Python that uses scikit-learn for classification, pandas for data processing, and OpenCV for handling visualizations and related tasks.
As a complete beginner contributor, my goal is to start small and learn the codebase. I have basics in:
Python + OpenCV
Some ML (scikit-learn)
I'd greatly appreciate guidance for newcomers:
Any quick tips for smooth setup on Ubuntu/Linux (common pitfalls)?
Which "good first issues" from the board are currently open and beginner-friendly (e.g., docs improvements, notebook tweaks, minor fixes, or samples)?
Recommended starting notebooks/tutorials for someone with OpenCV experience?
Best regards,
Manashree Kalhapure
