Build system support

We are interested in integrating shardy into our compiler, but our whole SW ecosystem uses cmake which makes it challenging to support Bazel only projects.

Do you have any plans to support cmake or are there any recommendations you might have for cmake based project integration?

Hey Nick! Glad to hear you are interested in using Shardy.

Adding cmake is on our roadmap but we are quite stretched at the moment so I’m not sure when we’ll get to that.

in the meantime did you consider using something like https://github.com/google/bazel-to-cmake?

Hi @tomnatan30, has there been any progress regarding the support for CMake? I tried the referenced tool, but it doesn't work, and its support seems very rudimentary. :(

@tomnatan30, we are currently maintaining a patch that applies a cmake build tree on top of shardy. We were wondering if perhaps we could upstream this? I know this might require additional maintenance burden on the project, but it would vastly simplify uplifts for us + many MLIR based projects are cmake only.
