It is not safe, because it's not clear how or with what code those apps were patched with. It's not worth the risk when patching yourself takes only a minute or two.

We've had reports of odd behavior when users installed prepatched apps, ranging from popup ads showing while outside the patched apps to unknown random videos showing up in users watch history (view farming?).
