Fake Apk? #1236
-
I've been using an apk for a long time that claimed to be a manager of the revanced. I never had any problems with it, but today I was curious and clicked on the official website and it led me to a page that said it was a fake website, I downloaded the official manager. As much as I feel that the answer will be that the fake apk is a problem, I still came to ask if it is safe, I will send the link of the other apk, but I don't think it is even available for download anymore. Link from the other "the fake" manager: I'm using translator, sorry for the writing mistakes. Edit: To complement, there are still some applications that receive updates in the app, I don't know if it's something automatic. |

It is not safe, because it's not clear how or with what code those apps were patched with. It's not worth the risk when patching yourself takes only a minute or two. We've had reports of odd behavior when users installed prepatched apps, ranging from popup ads showing while outside the patched apps to unknown random videos showing up in users watch history (view farming?). See here if you want a simple guide how to use the real ReVanced Manager https://github.com/KobeW50/ReVanced-Documentation/blob/main/YT-ReVanced-Guide.md#before-you-begin |
