Fake Apk? #1236

I've been using an apk for a long time that claimed to be a manager of the revanced. I never had any problems with it, but today I was curious and clicked on the official website and it led me to a page that said it was a fake website, I downloaded the official manager. As much as I feel that the answer will be that the fake apk is a problem, I still came to ask if it is safe, I will send the link of the other apk, but I don't think it is even available for download anymore. It is not safe, because it's not clear how or with what code those apps were patched with. It's not worth the risk when patching yourself takes only a minute or two. We've had reports of odd behavior when users installed prepatched apps, ranging from popup ads showing while outside the patched apps to unknown random videos showing up in users watch history (view farming?). MicroG is the most important app to uninstall, if you installed from a counterfeit source. Uninstall everything from the fake manager and change your account passwords. See https://counterfeits.revanced.app as you found out. |

I don't remember where I downloaded it, but I know it was before the original revanced stopped receiving updates, I have the microG since then, but I'll see if I reinstall it again. But the only strange thing I noticed on my YouTube was that I was subscribed to channels that I didn't know, but I always thought that this was YouTube's own mistake, on Google it doesn't show that other devices connected my account, apart from that nothing bad happened, and I've had this microG for a long time. But thank you very much for the information, I already knew the answer but it could be another way to download the applications, I thought it was better to ask. |

I'll just miss the revance icon, I just downloaded the original YouTube and applied the patch but it still has the same icon, it's something silly but I would like to have this difference from both applications |
