Currently, Autoware primarily serves limited scenarios like low-speed logistics and campus shuttles. However, end-to-end technology must handle open-road complexity:
‌Data compliance‌: End-to-end models require massive real-world road data—how would the open-source community address privacy and cross-border data restrictions?
‌Computing costs‌: Training billion-parameter models demands supercomputing resources—could this marginalize small developers?
‌Liability concerns‌: End-to-end decision-making lacks interpretability—would unclear accountability hinder commercial insurance adoption?
