Making GAMING BADGE a thing

Maybe you could facilitate it by creating a game engine for 2d platformer games? Create a demonstration game with it and artists will jump on the bandwagon automatically.

I don't think https://store.steampowered.com/app/254200/FortressCraft_Evolved/ would work on a badge.

The rest of the stuff is some prototypes made with https://www.gbstudio.dev/ or unity3D or godot.

Bu basically if you want a game on the badge it will need a game engine, as very few people know how to make a game engine, making a game on the other hand is a bit easyer.
C#/Javascript/Python/Typescript/scratch or somesuch that can load in sprites and move sprites on screen is already a big plus. But it would be a lot more usefull if there was an editor.

But I guess having a chrome/browser engine or somesuch would also be a big ask...

We could make the engine work on the desktop and have the editor be in-engine.

How about a real life TIC-80 computer? Basically a tiny FPGA or Microcontroller running a TIC-80 Emulation. Some Display output (mini-hdmi?!) would be ideal for live TIC-80 Jams and Demos.

Cool idea, could you look into doing a proof of concept for this? To me it seems like the TIC-80 wasn't meant to be run on actual embedded hardware so this might prove to be a bit of a challenge.

As an alternative, maybe we could do our own version of a fantasy console. We've already got Python as a scripting language on the badge, maybe it would be fun to look into alternative (Lua, JavaScript etc...) scripting languages?
