Display query result while metadata query runs in the background

I am working on big databases, where the metadata query runs for couple of minutes and the query result is not displayed until the metadata query finished.
I already configured the metadata connection to use a separate connection always, but the result is still not displayed.
Check the example, where the query is already finished but I see the "Read data from container" message.

Is there a setting I misconfigured or is this a bug?
