app.use() no longer fires. used it for a long time now it does nothing.

I have been using app.use() for a long time, in my server file to add some items to the context object. Now it does not even fire. what can be the probelem?

console.log('I Can See This!');

// does not fire
app.use(async (c, next) => {
    console.log('#######################');
    // use c.set() to add things to the context.
});

// does not fire
app.use('*', async (c, next) => {
    console.log('#######################');
    // use c.set() to add things to the context.
});

i'm dumb, you have to make request to see middleware logging
