Is bulk-surface coupling possible in mfem?

Dear MFEM community,

I’m working with a coupled bulk–surface PDE roughly of the form

$$ a(u,v) + (p, v|_{\Gamma})_\Gamma = (f,v),\quad b(p,q) - (u|_{\Gamma}, q)_\Gamma = (g,q) $$

where $u,v \in H^1(\Omega)$ on a bulk domain $\Omega$ and $p,q \in H^1(\Gamma)$ on the surface $\Gamma=\partial\Omega$.

As I understand it, the surface can be extracted as a SubMesh. Does MFEM then provide a convenient way to transfer between the bulk mesh and the surface SubMesh?

Any tips, ideas, or examples would be greatly appreciated! Best Julian
